About Avedøre Landsby
Visit the cosy village with a pond and the old school from 1781, the eldest house in town. There are many marks of the past in the village. The winding street Storegade dates back to the early Middle Ages, and the village pond shows evidence of the original structure of a "forte village". A "forte" was an open area in the middle of the village, with an enclosure for the cattle at night. South of the village pond you can see the old engine house from the 1850's.
